What we fix and install

About us
Heating and Cooling Work Suited to the South Bay
The Santa Clara Valley has dry summers and mild, damp winters, and the inland and southern parts of the valley get noticeably hotter in summer than neighborhoods closer to the Bay. An air conditioner in Gilroy or Morgan Hill often works harder than one in Milpitas, and a furnace may sit unused for months before the first cold night. NextLevel AC Repair Service works on both sides of that pattern. We diagnose and repair air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps, and we install new systems when replacement is the better choice. When you're weighing options, we walk you through the tradeoffs in plain terms. That includes how Bay Area Air District appliance rules could affect a future furnace replacement and which incentives are worth checking before you decide. Our aim is a system that keeps your home comfortable, runs efficiently, and fits the way you actually live.

FAQ
Common questions
Do I have to replace my gas furnace because of the new Bay Area rules?
No. The Bay Area Air District appliance rules do not require replacing working equipment. They apply only when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced. Gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 on must meet a zero-NOx emission standard. In practice, that points homeowners toward heat pumps when a furnace is replaced after that date.
Can I still get the federal tax credit for a heat pump?
Not for a new installation. The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025, and it is not available for installations after that date. Regional and local incentives may still apply.
Are there heat pump incentives available in the Bay Area?
Bay Area homeowners can check BayREN and their local clean energy provider for current heat pump and electrification incentives. Amounts and availability change by funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before including it in a quote.
How do I know whether to repair or replace my air conditioner?
It depends on the system's age and overall condition, what the repair involves, and how well the unit has been keeping your home comfortable. After we diagnose the problem, we explain both paths so you can compare them and decide.
How often should my heating and cooling system be maintained?
Once a year per system is a good rule of thumb. Many homeowners schedule an AC checkup in spring before the summer heat and a furnace checkup in fall before the first cold nights. Heat pumps handle both jobs, so they benefit from regular attention too.
Is a ductless mini-split a good fit for my home?
Mini-splits often work well in homes without ductwork, in additions and converted spaces, and in rooms that stay too hot or too cold compared to the rest of the house. We look at your layout and how you use each space before recommending one.
My AC is running but the house isn't cooling. What should I check first?
Make sure the thermostat is set to cool and below room temperature. Replace the air filter if it's dirty, and confirm the outdoor unit isn't blocked by plants or debris. Check that no breakers have tripped. If it still isn't cooling, turn the system off to avoid freezing the indoor coil and schedule a service visit.
